Ka- Luna Ho'omalu Ha'io-lelo No- 'Oihana Mahi'ai


(The Chairman's Speech on Agriculture)

Ma ka makahiki umikumaiwa kanaha kumu ewalu, ua lawe ka Luna Ho'omalu aloha 'ia o kona ha'io-lelo no- 'oihana maha'ai kaulana. (In 1948 the beloved Chairman delivered his famous speech on agriculture).

Ua pili aloha ke-ia ha'io-lelo no na- poe apau o ka honua. (This speech is loved by all the peoples of the world). Lehulehu na- hau'oli limahana ku- i mau laina loihi no hola nui i ku-ai mai nui na- kopena mau o ke-ia ha'io-lelo aloha 'ia. (Huge numbers of joyous workers stand in long lines to buy many copies of this beloved speech.)


Aleki: A, aloha Kakili, ua ku ma ka laina no iwakalua hola no ku-ai mai a'e iwakalua kuma kahi kopena o ka- Luna Ho'omalu Aloha 'ia Ha-iolelo No 'Oihana Mahi'ai! (Alexi--oh, hello Vasily, I just stood in line 20 hours to buy 22 copies of the Beloved Chairman's speech on agriculture!)


Kakili: Iwakalua kumalua wale? (Only 22?) Ua ku-ai mai o Ikolo i kanakolu kuma kahi a.....(Igor bought 32 and.....)


Aleki: A, no'ono'o au pono e ku ma ka laina hou a me ku-ai nui na kekahi mau kopena! (Oh, I think I should get back in line and buy several more copies!)


Kalaki: 'Ae, Alaki, pono nui ka mana'o! (Yes, Alexi, a very good idea!)


Aleki: E 'olu'olu, mai 'o-lelo 'oe e pili ana no ke-ia. (Please, don't say anything about this)


Kaleki: 'A'ole hoi'no. (No, of couse not)...
